NMAT(NMIMS)

Narsee Monjee Management Aptitude Test (NMAT) is an important pre-requisite for admission to the Post-graduate Management Programmes of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Mumbai. NMAT (effective from 2010) is now an online admission test conducted in India and abroad during a predetermined period.



The candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in aggregate from any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. Testing Areas
The three sections tested are:
1) Quantitative Skills 
2) Language Skills and 
3) Logical Reasoning.
There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers.
NMAT-2012 provides candidates with a section order choice, which means candidates can choose the order of sections of NMAT-2012. Each of the three sections have individual section timings and candidates need to answer and review the sections of the particular section within the allotted section time. 



Exam Format
The NMAT is of 120 minutes and will consist of multiple choice questions where the candidate needs to select one of the correct answers. The sections in the NMAT-2011 are Language Skills; Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning. There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers.

A candidate needs to perform well relative to other candidates in each of the 3 sections of the test as the score of each section and the overall score will be used to shortlist the candidate for the second stage of the selection process as well as in the final ranking. In case a candidate completes the section (answering & reviewing) before the section time gets over, the balance time of the given section will not get added to the next section(s). The next section has its own time limits and candidate needs to complete the section in the allotted section time as earlier section(s).

** Candidates making payment through Cash Deposit at Bank or Demand Draft are advised to remit their slips and demand draft well in advance of the closing date as NMIMS shall not be responsible for any delay in postage. Late payment fee will be charged for any payments received after the date and time given above. For Late Registration, any payment received after the due date and time will not be considered and registration cancelled.

How to Apply
Registration Instructions
  • Click on Register for NMAT-2012 in the Quick links on the left side of your screen.
  • A new window for filling the Online Application form will open on your screen.
  • Click on the New User Registration button on the left side of the screen.
  • Read through the Terms and Conditions and click on the I Agree button to accept the Terms and Conditions.
  • Fill in the details requested in the online application form related to your personal, educational and work experience details. NMAT-2012 offers you a choice to apply for MBA (Full Time), PGDM or both the programs. Please do not forget to fill in the fields marked (*) as these are mandatory. For any clarification regarding what needs to be filled in each field, click on the How to fill the Form link at the top of the page.
  • On the next screen, choose password, answer hint questions and click on the Submit button to register.
  • The next screen will display your unique NMAT-2012 ID.
  • You are required to pay the exam fee for successful completion of your registration. You may choose to make the payment at this stage or return later to make the payment.
  • If you choose to make the payment, now click on the Click here to make payment link that appears along with your NMAT-2012 ID and proceed to make the payment. The screen will now display the payment options.
  • Make Payment options screen will show payment options links on the top -
    - Payment at AXIS Bank branch - If you choose to make cash payment at one of the designated Axis bank branches
    - Credit Card - If you choose to pay through your credit card
    - Demand Draft - If you choose to pay through a demand draft
  • If you decide to make the payment at a later stage, you need to click on the Make Payment button on the top of your screen after logging in with your unique NMAT ID and password.
  • After successful registration, you will get an e-mail with your unique NMAT ID and NMAT password. Use this NMAT ID for all future correspondence with NMIMS University. Also, use this NMAT ID and NMAT password to login and make modifications to the details in your application form till you receive confirmation of fee receipt from NMIMS.
  • After your application is duly accepted along with your fee by NMIMS, you will receive an e-mail with your username and password to log on to www.pearsonvue.com/nmims and schedule your test on your preferred date and location subject to availability.
For appearing in the NMAT-2012 test, a registration fee of INR1650/- is payable by the candidate. Payment for test fee for candidates will be accepted in INR by credit card, DD or cash deposit at any Axis bank branch as specified on the website. For more information click here.
